FAQ

I'm flexible and willing to accommodate your schedule. Personally, I'd like some time to develop lesson plans to ensure confidence in what I'll bring to the group. Historically, classes I co-taught with my mother were about an hour per week. The number of weeks required would depend on the learning pace, considering this isn't a standard ASL beginners class.
In the curriculum, my preference is to cover fundamental aspects such as the alphabet, numbers, yes and no, everyday small talk, and grammar concepts. Additionally, there will be a strong focus on terms and phrases essential for daily communication in the context of first responders, ensuring that students are job-ready. If students wish to delve deeper, we can expedite the course or expand into more generic ASL teaching.
This course is designed for all county first responders, including law enforcement, EMS, and Fire personnel, but it's open to anyone interested in learning. We can adapt our approach based on the participants, and there's flexibility in how we begin.
